Dear friends,
Breathe deep, the sun sets and it also rises. And it's rising now! I cannot begin to describe to you how important or firmament moving the last two weeks have been. In the span of a couple of days Iceland seems to have left a dark hellish universe for a bright and glowing one.
In all seriousness, my body has reacted in a way that is utterly visceral to the sun's return. It's as though all the organs and cells that make up my corporeal existence know that daylight is now normal again. Cue the hallelujah chorus.
Monday, our sunrise and sunset here is: 8:17am to 7:01 pm. That's over eleven hours! Compare that to Milwaukee's 6:19 to 5:47 pm. We're definitely on the way up, gaining about seven minutes of sunlight a day! Even when it's snowy and drizzly, hell, it's still bright!
